The first Corona case found in Kerala in the country. The number of corona patients in the country has now increased to over 10,000. But the number of Corona-positive in Kerala is not more than 400.
How the situation was handled in Kerala where Corona’s patent was first discovered has been a hot topic of discussion. The measures taken by Kerala are known as the ‘Kerala Model’.
But at the same time there is talk of two more models in the country. Bhilwara and Agra. They are also called Bhilwara Pattern or Agra Pattern.
How did Corona arrive in Kerala, Bhilwara and Agra? Can not this same pattern be applied across the country and chiefly in Maharashtra? Such a question is now being raised.
Kerala Model
Experts say the corona virus remains under control due to Kerala’s well-planned health care system.
Earlier in Kerala, three disasters – H1N1, Nipah and Mahapur – came to light. The health system designed to cope with this crisis has become a strong cornerstone of the fight against Corona.
‘Awareness Experience’
A team of health workers and political leaders from across the state reached the village and raised awareness about the corona. When the old Thaman was laid in the state. Subsequently, two challenges were to chlorinate the wells and prevent leptospirosis. Health workers went to villages and raised awareness.
USHA (Urban Social Activist) and ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) network in rural areas is spread throughout the state.
For any challenge faced by this health worker, they are trained in two to three days, said former Kerala Health Services director N. Sridhar says. They were taught by expert study material and then spread to the village.
An Asha worker has a responsibility of 1000 people. In addition, there is a junior public health nurse in the state who has a responsibility of 10,000. The Junior Health Inspector has a responsibility of 15,000.
Kerala conducted many tests from the beginning and also quarantined thousands of people so the corona was not spread in the state.
Bhilwara pattern
Initially, when Corona’s outbreak took place at Bhilwara in Rajasthan, it was feared that Bhilwara would become the largest center in the country. But due to the steps taken by the Bhilwara administration, the number of patients was under control.
Corona had 21 patients on March 27 in Bhilwara. To prevent this spread, the administration issued a complete communication bar, except for essential services. Going from house to house and checking on potential patients. The number of people in contact with each positive patient was explored. A list of who they met was made.
The population of Bhilwara district is 30 lakh, but the health department of Bhilwara has so far collected the information of more than 2 million people.
The health department created 332 medical teams for urban areas and collected data of 5 lakh people while 1948 teams in rural areas created and screened 19 lakh people.
Not only did the Bhilwara administration stop collecting information, but they conducted home quarantines for 6,445 people in the district, took sample tests of 381 people and placed 149 people in the high risk category.
Before the lockdown in the country, the district was closed. One km radius of the hospital was sealed after the corona positive was found at Bangad Hospital in Bhilwara.
A war room and a control room have been set up in the office of collector Rajil Bhatt of Bhilwara. From there, activity is monitored throughout the district.
Agra Model
There are currently 137 corona-positive patients in Agra, but fortunately none of them is critical. In a cluster where more patients are found, a containment plan is created. And according to the plan, the results are getting better, said Union Health Secretary Love Agarwal.
Agro collector Prabhu N Singh says that the strategy that is currently being used in Agra is for the last one and a half months. This is the first cluster where the government’s implementation plan has been implemented.
A group had come to Agra from Jaipur. There were a total of 19 people. One of them thought Corona was positive. The district administration then monitored and treated the group wherever it went and the number of people who came in contact with them.
Also, tourists from outside the country were quarantined. The staff at the hotel where they stayed were also monitored by 160 people.
What exactly is the solution here in Agra?
This plan is called ‘Containment Plan’ as per the instructions given by the Central Government. A cluster is divided into three parts.
- Buffer zone – It is a circumference of five km. Preparations are made to prevent infection within this area.
- Containment zone – Within the buffer zone, an epicenter or containment zone of 3 km is declared.
- Hotspot – Within the containment zone, a positive patient’s home, street and relatives’ area are sealed by declaring the hotspot.
A total of 38 epicenters were announced in the fire.
